I’ve decided to go about sharing my new home with you in bits and pieces. I’ll spare you all the pre-befores and befores and just show you durings/finisheds. I hope you like it!
Our first order of business upon moving in was to order a couch. I had picked out my couch fages before, and so we went right to the sofa department of Ikea and requested an order for the Karlstad corner couch in Korndal green, thank you very much. Unfortunately, my beautiful spring green slipcover was having some quality issues and they were no longer producing it. What else did I want?
I glanced over the display sofas, which were ocean blue, brown, and burnt orange. No. But then the guy said, “We have a nice medium gray?” Yes!
Our new gray sofa was delivered last Saturday, and to compensate for the lack of greenness, I decided that what it needed was to be full of brightly colored pillows. I wanted to combine warm and cool colors and tie them all together by keeping everything bright, but grounded in the gray sofa, the ivory berber carpet and the brown Amish-made coffeetable.
Target provided two pretty pillows and a bright coffeetable runner. They were fun, but the couch just wasn’t complete.
Then, we decided to investigate the Pottery Barn Outlet outside of Columbus that I had spied on our travels to and from Pennsylvania. I wasn’t expecting much, but let me tell you, it was awesome. A warehouse full of discounted Pottery Barn stuff! Yay! I wandered around in a daze before walking out with three of the happiest, cutest pillows I’ve ever seen. For great prices. I can’t wait to stop at the outlet again to see what other great things I can score!
Do you love the living room as much as I do? I usually stick to cool, pastel colors so this is a new venture for me. So far, I’m happy! And I’m so happy about the lovely pillows that I found and my new discovery of the Pottery Barn Outlet, that I’m linking this post up to Archives of our Lives’ Saturday Steals link-up. [...] Leah got throw pillows for her awesome grey couch at a fraction of their original prices from the Pottery Barn outlet (I had no idea they had an outlet—I have been missing out, clearly). [...]

Thanks for participating! I could not stop looking at these pictures. The combination of muted grey and bright (but not over-the-top bright, just right bright) pillows is making my mouth water. It is lovely!
Thanks for joining this week!

p.s. that was me wanting to sit on your couch. I was accidentally anonymous. I know you don’t let just ANYONE sit on your new couch, so I thought I’d declare my intentions. Also, there was a last minute plane ticket advertised from DC to Cinci this weekend for $138. I almost took it!
