This blog is about how life is beautiful, even in the midst of suffering.
I began this blog writing about the little daily things I was able to find joy in while battling obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). It took me a long time to admit why I needed so badly to search for joy, but over time it has become therapeutic and writing this blog has been a part of my healing.
I believe that even in the darkness, there is so much to find joy in and I continue to share that here. On the days where we experience confusion, or pain, or boredom, or loss, there can still be joy in the smell of fresh baked bread, in the hug of a friend, in a smile on a child’s face. I write this not blithely and innocently, but out of experience and conviction and a determination to live life to its fullness, even when it is a fight.
Because the search for beauty is more than just a way to take pretty pictures. It is a way to redeem a broken world, to restore hope to the hurting, and to heal our hearts.
And so I seek to write truth. I write about my journey through OCD, but I also write about recipes, music, books, discoveries, good days, and I share as many beautiful photos as I can. Because there is more than suffering. This is the whole story.
